- Lachgas .... verboten !

Hello Snowgard,
How should a bigger intercooler bring a pressure lost? Where should the air go?
Air goes into the LARGER volume intercooler, so that is why the pressure is lost (not air volume, only PRESSURE is lost). I hope you anderstand corelations between pressure , volume, and speed of air. Othervise only bullshit is bullshit you are written....
P.S. If you meassure stock (or pulllyed, doesnt matter) "laderdruck" wright after the kompressor in the ALU outlet, you can meassure cca 0,7 BAR (stock), and if you meassure "ladedruck" after the intercooler, you can meassure ONLY 0,4 BAR. So without doubt stock intercooler bring at least 0,2 BAR less pressure. And because aftermarket intercoolers have only larger volume than stock intercoolers, they bring only LARGER looses. The only difference between a smaller and a bigger volume of the cooler is the time it takes, until the pressure is built up in the system, when the kompressor will be accelerated. More volume gives a slower response, but at least the pressure is he same.
Obviosly you are not reading what i have written: Here is my citat from upper post:
"P.S. If you meassure stock (or pulllyed, doesnt matter) "laderdruck" wright after the kompressor in the ALU outlet, you can meassure cca 0,7 BAR (stock), and if you meassure "ladedruck" after the intercooler, you can meassure ONLY 0,4 BAR...."
Now tell me what is the reason that after IC your boost redaings are
smaller than readings before IC?
So it is OBVIOSLY that intercoolers bring LOOSES. More volume, more loses. Otherwise pressure reading after IC would be the same as the reading before IC. Do you agree? You are mixing VOLUME of pushed air nd pressure of pushed air......
Suma sumarum: ICs brings BOOST looses. And that is the reason why the biggest intercooler in the world is not mounted in every SC car.

Hi Snogard !
Sorry, your arguments are too theoretical...we cannot tell you anything about American Racetech or Renntech Intercoolers because nobody of us is running them .
FACT is: A good IC from Väth, Brabus or ACC IMPROVES response, efficiency, boost pressure and horsepower against a stock IC !
I repeat my Offer: Try my intercooler and then post again, ok ??

Hi Snogard !
Sorry, your arguments are too theoretical...
So, THE FACT that boost reding before IC is 0,2 BAR larger than reading after IC is theoretical? I am talking about stock IC. Aftermarket Intercoolers mostly bring even more (cca 0,2-0,3 BAR) BOOST looses, but they also cool more. So you loose boost and gain cooling ability. So at the best, you can gain 1 or 2 HP when weather is really hot, and nothing or even loose some HP when wether is cold.
Now i make offer for you; If your IC make less BOOST looses like stock IC, and if i gain at least 5 clear HP with your IC, i will buy 10 intercoolers from you instantly.

| Hallo all,
I've read the thread through an hopefully I can give you some answers.
First of all look up "venturi pipe" on google.
It's correct that a bigger intercooler will make a dynamic pressure drop, since the speed of the air will decrease. This is only true measuring directly after the intercooler. When the pipe area will be smaller also the dynamic pressure will be higher (air speed will increase). The reason for not measuring the pressure directly after the intercooler is for the big area reduction. This reduction will make the air to turbolance and the laminar flow will be interupted. Measuring at the "drosselklappe" will be more accurate and stable. For area reduction a cone (venturi) of 30 degrees would be the best of course....but also inpossible for the space.
The total pressure in the system (from kompressor to "drosselklappe") will always be the same.
P total = P dynamic + P staticpressure.
In the intercooler as I explained earlier the dynamic pressure will be lower but on the other hand the static pressure will be higher...
I hope this explanasion will help .
Best regards
